After the eventful season four finale, Game of Thrones returned with a mostly quiet season five premiere (an episode where only one person dies is what passes for “quiet” in this show). Between developments at the Wall, a funeral in King’s Landing and trouble in Meereen, the episode was pretty packed (although very notably lacking an appearance from Arya). We rounded up the biggest moments of “The Wars to Come.”

Cersei Lannister has always been this way, it seems. The show used its first official flashback to show the queen as a young girl, and she’s just as demanding and hard to please as the woman we know.

MOTHER OF DRAGONS, MEET THE SONS OF THE HARPY

It’s hard out there for a slave-freeing, dragon-wielding conquerer. Things just aren’t going as well in Meereen as Daenerys wants. She tears down the statue that’s a symbol of the slavery she’s fighting so hard against, and moments later one of her Unsullied soldiers is murdered while visiting a brothel.
