Bond, James Bond, is going to meet Kate, Duchess Kate. And Prince William and Prince Harry.
The young royals will be the other stars when the latest Bond spy thriller, Spectre, premieres at a royal performance next month in London, Kensington Palace announced Wednesday.
Few promotional gifts are more desirable to filmmakers than to have their movie chosen for a “royal film performance,” starting with Queen Elizabeth II as top draw. But at age 89, she doesn’t do many movie premieres anymore so the spotlight now aims at her grandchildren, especially the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.
Also, few film franchises are more useful for promoting British style, glamour and film-making chops around the world than the Bond films, currently starring Daniel Craig in the suave spy role. The movie producers said Spectre will be the third Bond film chosen as a RFP title since 1946, according to a press release.
